Sacramento/Bay Area singer/songwriter Tré Burt has just released his new album “Traffic Fiction” through Oh Boy Records. Last summer he was over in Europe supporting Wilco. Tré Burt will make his north east debut with a band as part of a full European tour. Details below.

Tre Burt first earned notice for his imaginative and trenchant social protest songs. He was a peripatetic troubadour, tapping into American folk and blues as a rootsy base. Bits of those other roots and compositional ambitions naturally emerged on his 2021 album ” You, Yeah, You” as a result of Burt’s first proper studio sessions. On his new album “Traffic Fiction”, they are in full bloom, from the sweet country-soul surrealism of the title track to the skywriting rock of “2 For Tha Show,” Burt as urgent and commanding as he’s ever been. To get to this new alchemy of soul, dub, and more than a little punk, Burt returned to the basics—self-recording in sequestered silence. Then returning to Nashville’s The Bomb Shelter to work with a trusted band of pals and esteemed producer Andrija Tokic, his versions of those sounds poured out in circumspect love songs and joyous tunes of existential reckoning. He’s never sounded stronger.

“Burt’s stories, be them freewheeling tales about watching time pass by or hyper-focused political screed, represent a breath of fresh air in the Americana genre” – Paste Magazine

” Burt’s new album, “Traffic Fiction”, still trades in Burt’s favourite topics – doomed relationships, financial oppression and social apathy – while hewing closer to the old-school soul sounds he fell in love with while listening to music with his music-loving role models”- American Highways

“On his third effort, Traffic Fiction, Tré Burt has gone further in expanding his folk sound, adding in Americana, rock, and plenty of soul to his songs making for his most expansive effort yet”- Glide Magazine

Support – Skyway Man

Like a West Coast Dr. John—but more preoccupied with flying saucers than voodoo dolls—Skyway Man is in the business of opening new aural worlds, cracking open reality just enough to get the message through.
