Hi, my name is Tommy Arch, but you can just call me Tommy if you want to. I come from Newcastle so I suppose that makes me a Geordie. I haven’t got the accent but that doesn’t mean I’m not proud of where I come from or of the people I’ve been blessed to meet along the way… It’s always hard to explain what you do and why you do it. Somebody recently described what I do as a “Soulful, timeless, folk kind of thing” which I think isn’t far off. But that doesn’t mean I’m in a shiny suit and sunglasses, sweating and strutting about the stage. It also doesn’t mean I’m wearing a straw hat and a tweed waistcoat singing about fair maidens and bonny lasses either. I’m just making the music I’ve always wanted to make, the good old way, straight onto tape. I try to write songs that mean something to me and hopefully mean something to you too, that’s all I can ask for and really all I can say. I’ll let you decide the rest…
