The Smokin’ Spitfires are a Newcastle-based, horn-driven soul and R&B band known for their energetic live shows and deep roots in classic rhythm & blues. Built around the songwriting and vocals of Neil Hunter, they blend original material with the spirit of artists like Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave and James Brown, delivering a big, punchy sound powered by a full brass section and seasoned musicians.
They’re a well-loved fixture on the North East live music circuit, regularly playing venues such as The Cluny and The Globe, and they’re also notable for their long-running charity work with The Bubble Foundation.
