The Howl & The Hum / Announce biggest headline tour / Release new track “Portrait II”

The Howl & The Hum have announced a 16-date headline tour of the UK, the biggest tour to date for this hotly-tipped York-based four-piece. To tie in the announcement, The Howl & The Hum have shared a new track, “Portrait II”.

The band deal in darkly elegant, intense guitar music to create rich, cinematic songs with nuanced, lyrical songwriting. They are fronted by Sam Griffiths, one of the most engaging
new frontmen to emerge over the last twelve months. His unique stage presence helps make The Howl & The Hum such an essential live act.

Their latest release, Portrait II is the long-awaited blockbuster sequel, three of your four heroes return to make a lonely noise about not moving very far very slowly.
Eerie sounds haunt this isolating story about your friends’ lives blossoming around your own.

Over the summer the band sold-out Camden Assemby Rooms and were added to the Radio X playlist. They played a string of festivals, including Latitude, Citadel, The Great Escape, Live at Leeds, Standon Calling, Twisterella and the BBC Biggest Weekend.

The Howl & The Hum are currently on tour with Boy Azooga, and last week played a spellbinding set at the Scala in London to a packed room.

Following their performance at this year’s Great Escape, the band have also been announced as one of the First 50 for the event in 2019. They arrive in Newcastle this January for a hotly anticipated date at Cluny 2.
