Having launched their new soul line up at Alexandra Palace to 8500 people, Pama International return to Newcastle-upon-Tyne on Friday 28th February 2020, with their 9 piece soul revue and brand new soul album – ‘Part Two’.
Pama International’s next album, succinctly titled ‘Part Two’, continues where there ‘Altruistic Soul sound of…’ album left off with their own brand of gospel drenched southern soul, foot stomping northern soul & British soul thunder. It proudly boasts influences from; Al Green, Wilson Picket, Aretha and Carolyn Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Betty Swann, Otis Redding, James Carr, Bobbie Gentry and more.
For those of you new to the band they’ve previously recorded 3 BBC Radio One Maida Vale sessions, released 11 studio albums, collaborated with members of The Speicals, Madness, The Style Council, Galliano, Steel Pulse, plus Billy Bragg, Wrongtom, Rico Rodriguez, Dennis Alcpaone, Dawn Penn, Derrick Morgan, Dave & Ansel Collins and in 2007 became the first new band to sign to Trojan Records in 30 years. Songwriter/founder Sean Flowerdew has had over a dozen songs featured on film soundtracks including Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels.
The band love Newcastle. They’ve previously performed in the city along with Prince Buster, Jimmy Cliff, Lee Perry, Dave Barker, Mad Professor, The Pietasters, Levellers and The Slackers, as well sell-out shows in their own right. Come join the band for an explosive night of the finest soul sounds.
