The Cluny presents:

Jesse Terry & The Attention Seekers Co-Headline Show

  • Date: Thu 10 Oct 2024
  • Venue: Cluny 2
  • Advance tickets: £12.50
  • Doors: 7:30PM

With his seventh album When We Wander firing up his ever-growing fanbase, Americana singer-songwriter Jesse Terry has ridden out the pandemic like few artists can. Raves from the likes of No Depression (“instant accessibility…brilliance and clarity”) and Pollstar (“it’s easy to imagine hearing his songs on the radio in between cuts by Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Jackson Browne and Joni Mitchell”) are great, but his fan community is what’s truly priceless. A full-time, international touring artist for the past decade, the John Lennon Songwriting Contest Grand Prize winner and onetime Music Row staff writer normally plays 150 shows a year – from Bonnaroo, to the Philadelphia Folk Festival and AmericanaFest. When We Wander, the first album he wrote since becoming a parent, was recorded live with his band, and the family theme courses through it like a river through a canyon. Schiffer Kids will release Jesse’s first children’s book “If I Were the Moon” (based on the song of the same name) on March 28th.

The Attention Seekers

In 2016 Alan Fish and Jesse Terry met up via the UK TV Music series, ‘Cookin’ in the Kitchen.’ They struck up a friendship and a deal… Alan would play guitar on Jesse’s tours and Jesse would record with Alan’s band The Attention Seekers. It’s an arrangement that to this day, has served both parties well.

Alan’s band The Attention Seekers enjoy regular radio play both sides of the pond, and in 2018, Alan was invited by NYC Radio WFUV to play songs from the  ‘A Song For Tomorrow’ album at New York City’s prestigious Rockwood Music Hall.

The title track from The Attention Seekers ‘Seven Bridges’ album has become a regular fixture at Newcastle United F.C’s home matches.

A number of Alan’s songs have found their way into Jesse and Alan’s live performances. Alan is presently working on a new album and Jesse will be joining Alan in the studio later this year.

On home turf, The Attention Seekers will be playing songs from the ‘Seven Bridges’ and ‘a song for tomorrow’ albums!
