Hekla Goodman, singer and songwriter of Swiss sensation KHASMA, debuts her first solo EP, ‘all I should’ve said’, this June. As an artist based in Newcastle Upon Tyne originally from California, her sound is a mashup of flavours including folk, pop and dance music, providing a carefree backdrop to her mesmerising vocal melodies, sweeping harmonies and purposeful tell-all lyricism.
In this four track record, Hekla bares her soul, sparing no detail on the spectrum of human connection. The EP encapsulates a song of love, a song of heartbreak, a song for a friend and a song when she needed a friend.
‘I’m infinitely bad at talking about my feelings, so I write songs. This album is about the conversations I should have had. I’m getting better, though, and this EP sets the record straight.’ – Hekla Goodman
Hekla previously wrote and released 9 singles with KHASMA, namely ‘Move The World’ as the Swiss national theme-song for ETF Turnfest Aarau 2019, and ‘Wildfire’ which gained radio play and appeared on Viral 50 Switzerland. Her music has gained over 500k streams and singles have been playlisted on Spotify’s ‘New Pop Revolution’, Digster’s ‘Fresh Pop’ and Filtr’s ‘Swiss Made Hits’ playlists. Recently, singles ‘sad songs’ and ‘tightrope’ from the upcoming EP have received radio play on ‘BBC Introducing’ BBC Radio Newcastle.
