In 1980 they openedfor AC/DC and Iron Maiden whilstrecording and releasing their debut albumLightning To The Nationsaka ‘TheWhite Album’ on an independent label. This masterpiece is now a heavy metalclassic, revered by bands such as Metallica and Megadeth who cite DiamondHead as one of their greatest influence. The group signed to MCA in January 1982 and releasedLiving On Borrowed Timewhichentered the UK album charts at 24. An appearance at Reading Festivaland a UK tour at major venues including London‘s Hammersmith Odeonconsolidated their burgeoning status. The following year saw the release of the more progressive styleCanterburyalbum. This was a difficult album torecordand the pressure resulted in thedeparture of twooriginal band members,Scottbeingdismissed and Kimberlyleaving the group.A new line upDiamond Head opened the Monsters Of Rock Festival in1983 andcompleted a 15date European tour supporting Black Sabbath. This was followedby a further UK, Odeon sized tour.MCA now requested that management shouldbe transferred from Harris’s mother and partnerReg Fellowsbut Sean refusedand the label dropped Diamond Head in January 1984. Theirpartnership permanentlyended after making an album, then Sean wanting itreleased under a newband nameHost. In 2003 Brian decided to continueDiamond Headwithout Seanandrecruited vocalist Nick Tart. This resulted in the2005 album AllWill Be Revealed. The band embarked on a 22 date Europeantour supporting Megadeth, which turned out to be a massive success, impressinglong standing fans andpicking up new younger ones along the way. What’s InYour Head? Was released in 2007 on Cargo Records andsaw the addition ofAbbz onsecond guitar.
