Crowley are a hard rock band based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Comprised of vocalist Lidya Balaban, guitarists Eliza Lee and Ruth Cranston, bassist Kimberly Waugh, and drummer Matthew Graham. The band’s main goal is to reinvigorate the sounds of retro rock.
The band was formed in early 2022. The band’s debut single ‘The Witching Hour’ was #1 on Primordial Radio’s airplay charts in February ’23 as well as receiving airplay from Planet Rock, which is a strong indication of the band’s ambition at this stage. The song was inspired by the band’s classic rock roots and a fascination with the occult. Crowley released their second single ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes’ on the 28th April.
Crowley recently topped a fan vote to perform at Primordial Radio’s General Mayhem at KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton, where they beat a strong field including bands like Anchor Lane, Sister Shotgun and more. The band played at the event alongside some of the UK’s premier rock bands such as Those Damn Crows and Mason Hill.
The band were recently endorsed by prestigious brand GHS guitar strings, alongside names such as Architects and David Gilmour. Recently Crowley has performed at shows alongside the likes of Those Damn Crows, Green Lung, Dan Patlansky, Kira Mac, Vigil of War, Zachary Kibbee, Fury, Vintage Caravan as well as selling out their recent headline show in Newcastle.
