Badger mix melody and alt-pop informed beats with a narrated existential crisis. They employ spoken word, tape recorders and samplers to create a performance influenced by of ‘Sleaford Mods’ with hints of ‘Why?’ and ‘Death Grips’ thrown in for good measure. Listeners are advised to abandon all prior convictions. They have received national air play on BBC 6 music as well as local air time on BBC Introducing and others. Badger have recently completed a national tour and perform regularly in the North East, with highlights including appearances at Northern Electric Festival. They will be launching a new single on Kaneda Records.

John Paul
Described as “Scargill meets Grandmaster Flash”, John Paul has played various venues from the 100 club, London to The AB Hall complex Brussels (as well as a rapturously received performance at the Cluny last summer). He works alongside his producer, Rat, to bring a singular mix of Punk and Hip Hop with a twist. He has also collaborated with the Sleaford Mods, appearing on ‘Urine Mate (Welcome to the Club)’, on the ‘Austerity Dogs’ album.

His album ‘No Filter’ on Rough Trade, received high praise from Jason Williamson (Sleaford Mods):

“His wordplay and observations are near exceptional and at some points, and like all good music, it nearly devours itself as it tells musical convention to get fucked….‘No Filter’ has for me in some ways pushed the envelope of the Workers Tale, the arrival into mid-life with its disgust for the old shit you did and the attitudes that came with all that. Its solid”

Faithful Johannes
Faithful Johannes first established his reputation as a unique lyricist and live performer as the words half of cult duo Outside Your House. Since 2018 Johannes has been writing and performing as a solo artist.

Existing in a hinterland between spoken word poetry and rap, underpinned by homemade lo-fi electronic beats. He has vowed to release a Christmas single every year until his death (although there have only been two to date).

Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music – ‘Dark, intriguing, ultimately chilling, wonderful spoken word poetry’

NARC Magazine – ‘a hugely warm and enjoyable live performer’

Improvised funk infused psychedelic two-piece employing bass, guitar and electronics to craft beguiling vibes. Psydove are a new project from Steve Ziolkowski of Mr.Comfortable who built up something of a cult following in Newcastle. Expect smooth riffs, crunchy drum machines and good times all round.
